that's it!
I had these lovely buffet lamps, but didn't have any shades for them.
I found some shades, but they were
1. too plain and
2. a little too short for the lamps.

I knew I would need something to extend the shades down a bit AND make them more romantic.
I thought of a crystal beaded trim, feather trim, even just a plain gimp type trim,
but those just didn't seem foo fooey enough for my taste and some just wouldn't extend the lampshades down far enough either.

 :-)

I found these BEAUTIFUL roses at a local store and immediately knew what I wanted to do to my lamps.
I felt like Morticia Adams pulling the rose heads off all the stems!
Of course, unlike Morticia, I wanted the flowers not the stems. :)

The process was SUPER easy.....pull off flower heads, hot glue on the bottom edge of the lamp shade. Presto, change-o...........new romantic lampshades!
I did help the flowers "bloom" out a little more so they would be fluffier on my lampshades. :)

I think it made a HUGE difference. The roses extended the lampshades down enough and definitely made the plain jane shades more romantic. I am MORE than pleased with the outcome! Don't cha' love it when a plan comes together!

 :)

Have a blessed day!

Much better than Morticia Adams could have done. The flowers bring it all together!

Hi Missy!

Oh, I just bought some flowers to do the same thing to a couple of my lamps! Great minds and all that! LOL Yours turned out so pretty! I just love it. Now I might have to push some of my other projects back and work on this one! LOL

Missy, HOW fabulous! GREAT idea...they are lovely and I bet they just glow gloriously when the lamp is on! Sorry I haven't been around much this week. I had 2 dental appointments (so fun) and today I have that epidural steriod injection in my lumbar (double fun!). I'll try to give you a call later today when I'm resting after the procedure. TTYL! Morticia, I mean Missy,

I love your lamp shades! They are exquisite and look like they are right out of Rachel Ashwell's shop.
