You guys remember this?
For those of you that might have missed it,
I got this ugly little clock for a buck at a yard sale a few weeks ago.
I'm not sure if it even worked because I didn't care...
I did this to it....
Yep, I took it apart to start the process~!
The first thing I did was to make the little flowers to put on it,
I can't tell you how I made mine (family secret), but
all you need is some kind of onlay or little carving to put on top.
Here's a couple of close ups of the floral work...
After that, I gave it a nice primer
Then, I coated it with a coat of creamy white...
I forgot to mention that the reason I bought this to begin with,
was the wonderful bubble glass it had on the front!
I purchased this very intricate, hand cut, silhouette from Ebay for $6.99, it's of a carriage and horse.
I can actually handcut these myself, but I was being lazy and thought this one was worth the 7 bucks!
I put in under the glass.
:-)
All done!!
What do you think?
Here it is on my mantel.
Doesn't quite look like that dollar clock now does it?
:-)
Have a blessed day!
Hugs

Good Morning Missy Sweetie...
How very beautiful this is. I love it. Who would have thought that a clock could be recycled into something as beautiful as this sillouette? It is absolutely exquisite.
I love your rose accent you made for across the top, it is truly beautiful. You are a wonderful artist.
Thank you for sharing this morning.
Country hugs sweetie...Sherry
Oh My Goodness! How did you ever think of going from just a plain clock to a whole new display frame? You are always thinking "outside the box"...so to speak! lol Very, very clever! I love it!~xo,Patti
Thanks gals! I do like to think outside the box, or this time, outside the frame. :) lol I just loved that bubble glass and knew I could do something with it! If I see something that has just one element that I love, I figure I can "adjust" the rest to suit me!
Hope you have a great day!
Missy
Beautiful! Now you've got me curious about how you made those flowers. :)

Absolutely wonderful idea. Frames with that type of curved glass can be pricey. You are one creative gal! Thanks for sharing.
Sherry...ancient chinese secret! LOL :)
Susiet..you're right, those frames are REALLY expensive, that's why I keep my eye out for this kind of thing. :)
What a great makeover,it makes me so pleased that I am not alone seeing promise in unwanted and unloved things.
Keep up the inspiration.
Smiles,
Angela.
What a great idea! Thanks for sharing!! Now I'm on the lookout for clocks with unusual shaped glass!
Those medallions aren't that expensive and they add so much to any surface they are glued on.....and is what makes your frame so gorgeous. You are so creative.
Absolutely gorgeous, Missy! Fabulous project!! Perfect frame for the project, I love your flowers~ and $7 for the hand cut silhouette?! Perfect!
what a great transformation! love it! the white looks so good with what you have inside!
I think you're a smarty! I love the idea of using the clock for a bubble frame. I think I'll be copying that :).
Beeeee-autiful! Great and clever re-use. Now what can you do with the discarded face and hands?
That is just gorgeous! Did you know I was your long lost sister!!?? OK now tell me the Secret LOL

This is soooo cool-what a transformation! Happy WW
Beautiful. Nice idea for a shadowbox.
Hi Missy....Nice job on the silhouette! Very pretty. Oh! Read your reference to chandeliers on Andrea's post. Check out your re-do. Awesome! I loved how you re-designed that chandy. I posted on two of my own chandeliers on my blog, May 2 and June 4. If you ever have time and want to check them out, great. I'd love to have you visit. Oh, I have an admission, though. While I love white, I also like brass! Yeah. I liked outdated brass. ha ha Take care. Susan
Susan honey if you like brass....more power to you, it's just not my cup of tea anymore. :) I had a long love affair with it and got tired of it and have a new love affair with white or oil rubbed bronze. :) (even brushed aluminum!) lol
Have a great day love!
Missy
An Amazing transformation ~ it now looks so Pretty..... Thank You for Sharing
Wow! How inspiring is that??? You are so creative.....my mind doesn't always work that way, but I can always copy things from you gals who come up with these neat ideas.
I'm painting my closet right now....and that's all I can handle for today...hate, hate, hate painting walls....but it will be so pretty with it's new shabby chic look...I am doing the unpardonable to that closet. Took out the clothes rods and shelves. using my own wicker in there....we'll see how it all pans out!
blessings to you
ANDREA
Lovin' the rosette piece at the top of the frame and the bubble glass. Very unique. I never would'ave thought of taking that clock apart like you did. What a great idea! Cheap, creative, and just plain adorable! Looks great on your mantel, too! Wonderful job!
xoxo laurie@heavens-walk
I think the rosette piece was good touch also

That's my idea of a great makeover! I thought the clock was hopeless....I wouldn't have purchased it in its original state. You did a wonderful job!
