Patio Pleasure part II :)

You remember when I showed you my patio here,
and asked you what you thought it needed?

One of the things I wanted to add was curtains,
to soften the corners of the gazebo.

WELL...
My mom went to a yard sale and they had an entire bag FULL (I'm talking 18~)
of these sheer tablecloths.

Someone had purchased them for their wedding and when they came in, the
color didn't exactly match their wedding, so they just got different ones.
I love the coppery/pinky brown color!
She got the whole bag for $2 bucks!!! (can you say steal of the century!)

Anyway, she shared and I decided to make curtain panels for my patio corners with them.
:)
See the seam on the tablecloth in the picture above?
Well I folded it down on that seam to make a "valance" for the top of the panel.

It looked like this when I was done.

I found spools of sheer ribbon the exact same color as the panels for $1.00 a spool and cut 12" lengths.
I doubled the ribbon and sewed on down on the top
of the valance like this....

I spaced them out equally, with 8 in total on each panel.
(oh and yes, that is my foot with the pink toenails!)
:0)

I found these cute little buttons for a $1.00 a card
at JoAnn Fabrics..
LOVE that store! :)
I bought the buttons as a decorative touch, they won't be functional...
details are important people! :)

I HAND SEWED each button on....
and yes it took a long time,
but I think it was worth it for the touch of pink it added!

I used one panel for each corner (they were WIDE tablecloths).
The nice thing about the ties is that you can adjust the length (to a degree) to make sure
it doesn't drag the ground.

Here's what they look like all hung up and in place!

OH, did you notice I put a round table under
my birthday chandelier?!

You remember when I won the giveaway from a fistful of weeds?
The shower curtain in the giveaway is what I made the tablecloth from..
Thank you Rhonda!!
You can see it better in the photo above, but I just love it..
it brings all the browns and pinks together!
:-)

I think they turned out just lovely
and the whole project cost
about $10.00!
WOO HOO!
I wanted to add more touches of
pink and also more flowers, but the summer
has gotten away from me.
Oh well, there's always next year!!

I started my fall decorating today, so I'll have
pics of that to show you soon!
:)
