Yeah, we wanted to see the gold too,
but they wouldn't let us!
;0)
But we did get to go to the Patton Museum!
(we also got to see a full size replica of what the gold bars look like)
Outside the museum....can you see in the bench
it says, "Patton Museum".
Here's some military memorabilia from Iraq....
Different uniforms....
This was Gen Patton's sweater he
got while in the 1912 Olympics
in Stockholm, Sweden.
He placed 5th out of 42
in the Pentathlon.
Here's the full size replica of a gold bar
in Fort Knox.
This is a fun piece!
It is the model of Fort Knox
used in the movie Goldfinger.
It was used by Goldfinger to brief his henchmen on the attack
of the depository.
Some of Patton's military items.
His jeep...
This was after a trip to the gift shop...
Carson got an AK-47
YIKES!
:0)
My hubs pointing out the tanks to the boys...
have I mentioned what HUGE
history buffs all my guys are?!
I think this is a neat shot!
My honey thinks this sign is funny....
:)
We were a little disappointed because they have moved
out so much of the stuff that used to be here.
They are relocating everything to another place, so
we didn't get to see much, but
hey it was free so we couldn't complain!
Time spent with my family
is my treasure for this week...
what's yours?
Link up something you love, or
anything you like.
:)
HUGS!

Hi Missy!
That looks like it was a fun adventure. Lots of great history. I love the picture of your hubby standing next to that sign outside by the gate!!
You sure go to some interesting sites, Missy!
I can only imagine with the going rate for gold how much the "replica" would cost! Thanks for hosting the link party, I'll include it in my giveaway post. hugs tami
Just found you while blog hopping, and that certainly is a fun adventure. I'm totally digging Patton's 1912 Sweater (I have a thing for old sweaters), and I also think the sign is Hilarious, lol. Great History, Great Adventure, and Great Post!
Hi Missy....Looks like a fun "historical" outing! I remember my older sister going there to visit her then "fiance" who was stationed there when I was a little girl. At least it is somewhat close to you!~Hugs, patti
I just wanted to pop in and say a very big "Thank you" for your sweet birthday message. Your comment really meant a lot to me! I am so sorry it has take me so long to visit, but I had a great week celebrating!
I hope your weekend is fabulous!
Best wishes always,
Natasha.

Missy,
Looks like you had a wonderful time with your family. I've never been but I know some men - big and little - that I'll be sharing this post with! Thanks for taking us along.
