Tea for Two Tablescape!

Today I’d like to show you how to set up your table for tea.
In today’s world we often don’t take the time to honor our friends or family with a tea, but I think it’s high time we brought it back.

Here I have my table set for tea for two…..

good

You have to have a sweet treat when serving tea.   (well, I do at least! lol) Here I have cupcakes, petite fours and a lovely little cake.  You can buy the faux versions in my shop if you’d like to have some pretties sitting out all the time that won’t go bad! (or add to your waistline!)

You can’t have tea without the proper equipment, so a tea service is in order.   I have my tea pot, tea ball infuser, sugar and creamer in silver and of course a vintage sugar spoon, all resting on my antique silver tray.

I think real flowers are a must for tea time….there’s just something about an arrangement of roses that makes my heart swoon!

I received these roses from my love on Valentines Day.  They’re pink….does he know me or what?!

When you set your table for tea, you should start out with your plate centered in front of you, knife to the right (with the blade towards your plate),  your spoon goes next to the knife, or can rest on your teacup’s saucer.  The napkin can go to the left or rest on the center of your plate and your fork always goes to the left of your plate.  Tea cups sits to the upper right. I have included a small sorbet glass for some ice cream, if my guests so desire.

The lovely tea set that I’m using was purchased for me by my hubby.   My love had been with his company for 15 years and they let him choose a gift for himself…instead, he chose this dessert set for me.  Talking about making a  girls heart melt!

Aren’t the flowers just lovely on each piece?!

What’s a tea party without white gloves! Smile

I hope you’ve enjoyed my tea for two tablescape, I know I enjoyed putting it together!

good

I hope you’ll take time out of your schedule to host  a tea for your family and friends..it’s nice to make them feel special.

Can I please come over for tea. It would involve trains and planes and 1000,s of miles but it looks so inviting.
We have a 'Tea and Antiques' shop in Ashburton, a few miles from here, it looks just like your table maybe I'll go there and think of you.

Oh, what a beautiful table you have prepared for tea. Your tea service is beautiful but the story of your husband choosing a gift "for you" is so romantic. I also adore your background for your blog....it is so "you"....pink roses!

Missy,

What a wonderful tea party you host! Your table setting is simply beautiful, so feminine. Your hubby is a keeper for sure. Wish I were closer, I would join you, but no faux desserts! :)

Now this post has it all!!!!!! The prettiest set table for tea, the most beautiful cupcakes I have ever seen, silver and china, and great advice for a proper tea. But the touch I love the best are the white gloves. How lovely.
I agree with you, tea and real flowers are meant to go together! What a delightful viist!

You've created a beautiful teascape. I find that these days, every time a friend walks through my door, my first words are, "May I fix you a cup of tea?" Tea is such a catalyst for those special moments of caring conversation. Thank you for sharing your beautiful design. Cherry Kay
