A Chance to Make a Difference!

Hey everyone! I cannot wait to share this with all of you!
I know as home bloggers (or at least many of us are), we tend to stay away from things that aren’t in our own little niche of the world, but I really wanted to try and make a difference in the life of someone else. I have to tell you all what’s going on and how it started. (and how you can help!)
I have someone I’d like you to meet, her name is Lucy. (Oh Lordy, isn’t that the face of an angel!)

You see,  I went to school with a sweet lady named Cynthia,  and this is her beautiful little girl that she adopted from China.  Isn’t she precious?!   When Cynthia and Adam adopted Lucy, they didn’t care that this little gift from God was born with no ears, they just knew they were going to love her!  Lucy had never heard a sound until they got her to her forever home in September 2011 and she was fitted with a BAHA (bone-anchored hearing aide)…she can now hear! The BAHA device has to be strapped to her head right now, but one day when she’s old enough,  they’ll be able to do an implant so she won’t have to have it strapped on anymore.  Lucy has to wear glasses and has always had to have them strapped onto her little head too because she’s never had any ears to hold them up!  Well, on Sept 27, 2012 Lucy had constructive surgery in California (we live in KY) to have a little ear made. Here is a picture of her left ear before surgery…

and after surgery…(sweetest ear ever!)

Here is a BEFORE pic of Lucy’s right ear…

Now this is where everyone can help!  Each one of these surgeries cost the family, after insurance, over $24,000.00! (and that’s not even counting travelling costs to California and back!)  So there are several ways you can help.

1. SHARE, SHARE, SHARE this info!!! You have my permission to copy this post and put it on your blog, tweet it, facebook it, Google+ it,  whatever you can do to help spread the word. I know you guys have amazingly HUGE hearts and would love to see this little girl get her second ear! Her surgery is scheduled for May 23, 2013 and they have to have $24,000.00 by that time, and so far the site has only $1,300.00. A LONG way to go!

2. I’m enclosing a link to their fundraising site where you can just straight up make a donation to Lucy’s ear surgery. (even just a dollar or two can help!) You can find it HERE.

3. My friend Dawn, and I have put together a Thirty-One fundraiser for Lucy as well.  I’ll put that info on here and explain it a little further in a second.

If you can’t make a donation, or buy something from our Thirty-One party, will you please take a moment to do a quick post, or facebook this or tweet it please…this little girl could use a viral post right about now. :0)

If you’d like to browse the Thirty-One party, you can go HERE.
Just click on the My Parties tab at the top, and then onto Cynthia Farley’s Fundraiser, then shop!   All the orders will go to her party and all the profit goes to Lucy’s surgery! The orders can be directly shipped to you, as well!  This month's special is sweet! For every $31 spent, you get a Keep-It Caddy (soooo cute) for $5!!!!  (and there are different styles to choose from)

So if you spend $62 you get 2 for $10 and so on!   This party will close on February 25th, and no orders are sent until the party closes, so don’t panic if you order immediately, and your item doesn’t come in three days! :0)

You guys KNOW me….I have NEVER asked for any kind of help for anyone on here before except for prayers, but I felt a stirring in my heart to help this little girl get her new ear.  If we could all just share her story and each person give just a dollar, it could make a huge difference in her life.

So thanks in advance for tweeting, facebooking and just being the loving, gracious people you are!

Also, if you’d like to see Cynthia’s personal blog and see all FOUR of her adopted children, you can go HERE!
